IOWA FALLS — The St. Edmond girls tennis team remained perfect on the year, downing Iowa Falls-Alden here Thursday, 8-1.

Ava Underberg, Chloe Palmer, Abby Huss, Olivia Andrew and Sophia Schlienz scored wins in singles for the Gaels. Palmer and Schlienz won by matching scores of 8-1 while Underberg and Huss posted 8-2 set victories.

In doubles, St. Edmond won all three matches, as Underberg and Palmer, Ava Andrew and Huss, and Olivia Andrew and Schlienz were winners. Andrew and Huss, and Andrew and Schlienz, each won, 8-0.

“It was great to get another North Central Conference win,” SEHS head coach Shawn Neverman said. “It was also great to see some of the girls fight back from deficits to get big wins.”

Next action for the Gaels will be on Saturday when they compete at the Pella Invitational beginning at 9 a.m.
