Bears win big, 60-20
ALGONA — Bishop Garrigan started the season with a 60-20 victory over Kingsley-Pierson on Friday night.
Quarterback Tate Foertsch accounted for four of the Golden Bears (1-0 overall) touchdowns.
He finished the night 4-for-8 for 100 yards passing with three touchdowns.
He connected with Weston Rosenmeyer for a 47-yard TD, Michael Joyce from 10 yards out and Madden Miller for a 13-yard strike.
Foertsch also ran for 65 yards on 13 carries and nine-yard rushing touchdown.
Ethan Marso was the groundhog, carrying the ball 15 times for 97 yards and two touchdowns on a paif of 2-yard scampers.
CJ McGregor had a three-yard touchdown and ran for 35 yards, while Carter Cink had a one-yard plunge and 50 yards rushing.
Joyce led the defense with two interceptions.
