The Newell-Fonda softball team once again ruled the Twin Lakes Conference in 2025, going a perfect 11-0 to claim the regular season title.

The Mustangs, who also advanced to the Class 1A state tournament last month at Rogers Park in Fort Dodge, placed four players on the all-TLC first team, the league announced recently.

Seniors Kinzee Hinders and Anna Mercer were joined by junior Jocee Walsh and freshman Ellie Sievers from N-F.

Pocahontas Area, the conference runner-up, had Lauren Hoover, Kristin Axman, Amanda Davis and Halee Hauswirth on the top squad, while Southeast Valley’s Lauren Eslick, Rian Schlief and Chloe Lambert also made the first squad.

East Sac County’s Addisen Ehler earned a spot on the first team while Addison Hansen of GTRA and Sage Weber from Sioux Central completed the squad.

Schlief led the TLC in conference play with a batting average of .545, as Hauswirth, Eslick, Hinders and Davis followed. Sievers blasted a league-best five home runs, was No. 1 in RBI with 21 and first in runs scored with 20.

Hoover scored the most conference wins with 10 while Mercer had the best earned run average at 1.06. Hoover was also first in strikeouts with 102.
