MANSON — Cory Cummins and Ryan Kinseth joined the exclusive three-time champion club of the Middleton Classic here on Sunday evening.

Cummins, a graduate of Southeast Webster, and Kinseth, a Fort Dodge Senior High grad, claimed the 18-hole Sunday crown before winning the championship-nine title at the Manson Golf and Country Club.

Saturday’s 18-hole winners were Justin Kean and Justin Yetmar, who won in a playoff over Sean Hood and Grantt Miller on the second hole. Both teams shot 10-under rounds of 62, as two more pairs were at 9-under.

There was also a playoff on Sunday, as Cummins and Kinseth topped fellow former three-time overall champions Blaine Buhr and Eddie Doyle. Both pairs shot 13-under rounds of 59.

The Middleton Classic is held yearly to honor former Manson Northwest Webster High School teacher and coach, Joe Middleton, who passed away in 2007. Elias Johnson, a MNW grad, hosts the event.

Recent MNW graduates Evelyn Droste and Brody Proctor were recipients of the Joe L. Middleton Scholarships this year, with each receiving $6,000.

Starting at $4.94/week.
