Algona tops SE baseball
ALGONA — The St. Edmond baseball team dropped a North Central Conference doubleheader to Algona here Monday night.
Scores were 20-2 in four innings and 16-5 in five.
Tate Slagle, who signed with the University of Iowa to play baseball, hit three home runs on the night, including a grand slam. Slagle drove in 10 runs in the twinbill.
For the Gaels, Ethan Swisher had two hits and an RBI in the opener, as Kinnick Henning and Jack McElroy each scored runs.
Grant Galles had two doubles and an RBI in the nightcap, as Garrett Royster drove in two runs and Henning had an RBI. Griffin Laufersweiler scored twice.
St. Edmond returns to action Thursday when they host Bishop Garrigan.
