LE MARS — The seventh-ranked (Class 1A) St. Edmond softball team scored a pair of victories here Saturday at the CYO Tournament.

In the win over Heelan, Toryn Helle went six innings, striking out six without a walk to earn the win. Sophia Schlienz drove in two with two hits, while Mariah Myers and Lauren Gibb both had two hits and scored a run.
After being scoreless through the first four, St. Edmond plated three runs in the fifth and added an insurance run in the sixth.
Myers homered versus Gehlen. Gibb recorded a triple and Helle a double.
Helle was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, Gibb drove in three with two hits and two runs, and Myers had two runs scored.
Liv Andrew recorded a two-RBI hit, Myrah Lemon had a pair of RBI, and both Hadley Oswald and Ansley Oswald worked two walks.
Breckyn Ulrich had two strikeouts in three innings of work.
“It was good to see us finish strong with a big offensive performance vs. Gehlen,” SEHS head coach Bill Shirbroun said. “We got great pitching in both games, as all three controlled the plate and were able to throw strikes.”
Myers, Gibb and Helle each made the all-tournament team for the Gaels.
St. Edmond (9-2 overall) is back in action on Monday when they travel to co-North Central Conference leader Clear Lake (8-3, 4-0).
First varsity pitch is set for 7:30 p.m.
