HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Iowa Central track and field program wrapped up their season at the NJCAA Outdoor meet.

The Triton men finished fifth behind national champion Mohamed Dahmouch, while the women placed 19th overall. Two school records, two national runner-ups and 15 total All-American honors were earned by Iowa Central.

Dahmouch claimed the men’s 1,500-meter run, while Said Rifi Loutfi and the men’s 4×800 relay each placing second. Loutfi scored his silver in the 800.

“We definitely performed the best we could,” ICCC Director of Track and Field Dee Brown said. “Our men’s team focused on doing a few things very well, and we placed Top-3 in four different events. Our women were short-handed due to injuries but were led by sprinter Zariah Greaves, who scored five team points between her two sprint relays.

“We will return half our points next season and can hopefully add some more depth over the summer and into the next school year.”

Bongumusa Nkosi was third in the 200 and placed fourth in the 400, Maeva Goune Tibbolo tied for fourth in the long jump and Greaves was fifth in the 100.

Robert Cooley added a seventh in the decathlon, with Eden Brouwers (heptathlon), Angus Alberts (shot put), Taha Ouchene (800) and Greaves (200) all placing eighth.

Starting at $2.99/week.
