HUMBOLDT — Opening day didn’t go as planned for the St. Edmond and Humboldt baseball teams.
The two teams were scheduled to play the new doubleheader format in the North Central Conference, but rain hampered those plans.
The two squads made into the fourth inning of the first game.
St. Edmond had a turn around last season, going 9-14, their most wins since 2021.
The Gaels are led by seniors Landon Saathoff, Max Nguyen, Quintin Jaeschke and Kade Schlegel, along with juniors Grant Galles, Kinnick Henning, Koleman Hanson, Jack McElroy, Ethan Swisher and Max Webster.
Sophomores Griffin laufersweiler and Jacob Nieland round out the varsity lineup.
