MASON CITY — Jerry Crockett’s new school record highlighted Fort Dodge’s last middle school boys track meet of the season at the Riverhawk Invitational.

Crockett had an 18-9.5 in the long jump, breaking the Fort Dodge Middle School 7th-grade mark of 18-7 set by Keytrick Mosley in 1994. The Dodger 7th graders were second in the meet, as were the FDMS 8th graders.

On the 8th-grade side, Jones Hensley swept the 800- and 1600-meter run titles. Piersun Black of Fort Dodge won the high jump, with teammate Jaysawn Jackson taking second in the same event. Jackson also captured the 200-meter dash, and was second in the 100.

The shuttle hurdle relay team of Riley Klein, Thomas Smith, Brody Reimers and Aaron Perez was first, as was the distance medley relay (Black, Reimers, Josh Jones and Hensley) and 4×100-meter relay (Klein, Aaron Perez, Matias Lacina and Jackson).

Perez grabbed silver for the Dodgers in both the 100- and 200-meter hurdles.

Crockett’s win in the long jump was one of three for the FDMS 7th graders. Julian Trevino prevailed in the shot put, and the 4×200-meter relay of Carsen Morris, Brody Evans, Kai Lewis and Crockett was also first.

Crockett earned silvers in the 100 and 200.
