Dodger boys finish season at the nets
DES MOINES — The Fort Dodge boys tennis team ended their regular season with a tough 6-5 loss to Des Moines Lincoln here Tuesday night on the campus of Drake University.
Senior Micah Flaherty and freshman Corban McHone each picked up singles wins, as Flaherty finished the regular season unbeaten.
Flaherty and Tate Balkenende, Jaxon Price and Aidan Recker, and Jayden Stanley and McHone scored wins in doubles.
“I thought we really showed a lot of our growth against a very good Lincoln team that had a 9-3 record coming into the night,” FDSH head coach Scott Messerly said. “This should give us some more confidence heading into the postseason.”
Fort Dodge heads to Sioux City next Wednesday for Class 2A district action.
