EAGLE GROVE — The Fort Dodge girls’ shuttle hurdle relay quartet continues to shine.
The Dodgers claimed the event title at Eagle Grove on Thursday, crossing the tape in 1:14.73.
Competing for the Dodgers were freshman Adyson Friesth, freshman Charlotte DeJong, junior LJ Maehl and junior Maeleena Meyer.
“We are running really well in the shuttle hurdle relay,” said Fort Dodge head coach Todd Constable. “The weather wasn’t great with the wind and cold, but we still put up consistent numbers.”
In her first varsity 3,000 competition, Dodger freshman Linnie Pratt was a runner-up. She finished in 12:58.92, behind Bishop Garrigan all-state cross country freshman Julia Swift (12:02.72).
“Linnie ran cross country and is a great distance kid,” Constable said. “To come out and place second in her first varsity 3,000 is nice to see.
“We just have to keep putting work in and continue to grind to be peaking at the right time.”
Meyer brought home a bronze finish in the 100-meter hurdles.
The quartet of junior Teryn Rippentrop, freshman Charlotte Breeser, Pratt and senior Paige Lewis was third in the 4×400.
Breeser was third in the high jump. Saiya Noborikawa was third in the 1,500.
Kymariana Mosley was fourth in the shot put.
The Dodgers are back in action on Tuesday when they run at the Hannover Relays in Algona.
