Dodger girls run at Adel

ADEL — The Fort Dodge girls track and field team placed seventh here Tuesday night at the ADM Invitational.

Waukee Northwest was first followed by ADM, Dallas Center-Grimes, Boone, Perry and Des Moines Hoover.

“It was a good meet to go to,” said Fort Dodge head coach Todd Constable. “It’s pretty high level competition with Waukee Northwest, ADM and Boone has some good sprinters.

“It’s nice to be able to see where you are at and before running in conference and districts.”

Ky’Mariana Mosley had a pair of Top-8 finishes, taking fourth in the shot put and seventh in the discus.

Brooklyn Nelson was sixth in the high jump, as was Maeleena Meyer in the 100 hurdles. Saiya Norborikawa finished seventh in the 3,000 for the Dodgers.

In relay races, the 4×200 and shuttle hurdle each placed fourth, with the sprint medley and distance medley each taking fifth.

The 4×200 was ran by Malay Hollins, Olivia Daniel, Estlund and Reina Lacina; the shuttle hurdle by Adyson Friesth, Charlotte DeJong, LJ Maehl and Meyer; the sprint medley by Hope Alstott, Ashlyn Wills, Aneliese Schuur and Nelson; and the distance medley by Calliegh Zimmermann, Kenzie Halverson, Teryn Rippentrop and Linnie Pratt.

“We’re improving our times, jumps and throws,” Constable said. “We PR’d all over the place.

“It may not show because of the competiton. You can’t get faster if you don’t run at fast meets.”

Fort Dodge next runs on Thursday in Mason City.

Starting at $2.99/week.
