The Fort Dodge bowling teams honored 11 seniors on Monday night at the Family Bowling Center.

The Dodger boys lost a tight 15-pin contest to Des Moines Roosevelt, 2,627-2,612.

The Fort Dodge girls fell 2,008-1,845.

Rolling their last match for the Dodger boys were Trenton Beck, Josh Jass, Jabek Dunbar, Jayden Lennon and Tom Nguyen.

Beck paced the Dodgers with a 415. He had games of 234 and 191. Blake Seeman checked in with a 347 and game-high of 232.

Also rolling for the Dodgers was Kody VanValkenburg (326), Slade Babb (320), Shadin Roach (312) and Josh Jass.

“Honoring our seniors always makes for a special day,” said Fort Dodge co-head coach Julie Ulrich. “Trenton rolled a nice 415 series in singles, his second best of the season. Trenton has been a valuable contributor to our success all four years on varsity. He is very talented and always has a smile on his face.

“Josh and Jabek have also been with me for four years and grown a lot in their time with our program. Trice has bowled three years, Jayden and Tom just joined as seniors. These six young men, whether they have bowled all four years or just started, have contributed positively to our program. They are great teammates and have been fun to coach.”

The five seniors for the girls are Gabby Santana-Bass, Felicity Strain, Samantha Anderson, Kaitlyn Folsom and Paige Lewis.

Folsom led the Dodgers with a 330. She had games of 140 and 190. Also rolling for the Dodgers was Cally Graves (267), Sammantha Welter (246), Santana-Bass (238), Anderson (221) and Strain (210).

“Our senior group has girls with different levels of experience,” said Fort Dodge co-head coach Nick Vinson. “These girls show up and work, and have bowled behind good bowlers and teams.”

Ava Wessels (236), Lewis (225) and Joely Gilbert (144) competed on junior varsity.

Bailen Peterson (327), Jakeman (276) and Leland Sassman (268).

The Dodgers are back in action next Monday for the Iowa Alliance bowling tournament in Des Moines.
