Tritons go 5-0 at national duals
MIAMI, Okla. — The fourth-ranked Iowa Central wrestling team went unbeaten on the first day of the national coaches duals tournament.
The Tritons blanked Barton (48-0) in their opener. Iowa Central followed with victories over No. 15 Northeast Oklahoma (27-15), No. 21 Northeastern (36-12), No. 13 Labette (45-3) and Big Bend (42-14).
Iowa Central’s top-ranked Chance Davis (157), No. 8 Sam Libby (184) and third-ranked Coen Grimm (197) all went 5-0 on the day.
Davis had three falls and two technical falls. Libby picked up three pins, a tech fall and a forfeit.
Grimm won by decision, major, tech fall, fall and forfeit.
Earning three wins was second-ranked Jaydale Whitlock (125), Hayden Taylor (165), No. 6 Kaden King (165, 174), Lawrence Rosario (174) and Umair Ahmad (285).
