Triton women can’t slow Northeast
NORFOLK, Neb. — A quick start didn’t last for the Iowa Central women’s basketball squad here on Wednesday, as the Tritons saw a six-point advantage after the first quarter disappear in a 77-48 setback.
Ashlin Jacobsen scored 22 points for the Tritons, while former Fort Dodge Senior High standout Lainey Maehl recorded a double-double. Maehl had 10 points and 11 rebounds, while also contributing four steals.
Iowa Central, which led 14-8 at the end of the opening period, struggled to take care of the ball to the tune of 29 turnovers.
Aaliyah Jones had a game-high 27 points for Northeast (14-3, 6-2).
