The Fort Dodge bowling teams dropped a pair of matches to Mason City on Monday at Family Bowling Center.

In the boys dual, the Riverhawks posted a 2,516-2,348 victory.

Trenton Beck, Slade Babb and Josh Jass all broke 300 for the Dodgers, as Beck led the way with a 386 series. He had games of 183 and 203.

Babb posted a 326 and Jass a 310. Kody VanValkenburg added a 274.

“It just wasn’t our day,” FDSH boys head coach Julie Ulrich said. “The boys struggled quite a bit trying to figure out the shot, and the adjustments weren’t easy for them to make.

“We have to improve across the board as a team.”

Trice Jakeman led the Dodger JV with a 285.

In the girls dual, Fort Dodge fell to the Riverhawks by a final of 2,434-1,918.

Sammantha Welter had a 298 to lead Fort Dodge, followed by a 281 from Calli Graves. Felicity Strain added a 260.

“We just need to find some consistency,” FDSH girls head coach Nick Vinson said. “We raised our pin total back into the 1,900s for the first time since our opening dual, so that was a positive going into the break.

“I thought Felicity had a nice night.”

For the Dodger JV girls squad, Paige Lewis had a 219 followed by a 197 from Ava Wessels.
