Dodgers sweep at home
The Fort Dodge boys bowling team picked up their first win of the season and the Dodgers swept Des Moines Hoover.
The Dodger boys won 2,314-1,596. The Dodger girls were 1,741-1,335 victors.
Blake Seeman led the Dodger boys with a 342. He had a team high 222 game to go along with a 120. Josh Jass had a 340, highlighted by a 149.
“It was nice to get our first win,” said Fort Dodge co-head coach Julie Ulrich. “We didn’t bowl as well as I would’ve liked, but overall in singles most of our guys had one good game.
“We still have a lot of work to do being consistent with our first ball and then picking up spares.”
Slade Babb (325), Kody Van Valkenburg (298), Leland Sassman (288) and Bailen Peterson (261) also contributed for the Dodgers.
Samantha Welter led the Dodger girls with a 318 series. She had games of 168 and 150. Calli Graves had a 240.
“Sammantha had a great night,” said Fort Dodge co-head coach Nick Vinson. “She picked up more spares and struck a lot, while covering more spares and getting better.”
Also competing for the Dodgers was Gabby Santana-Bass (235), Kaitlyn Folsom (202), Felicity Strain (165), Joely Gilbert (153).
“Gabby did a good job of not getting down on herself,” Vinson said. “She stayed focused and started finding her spot in the middle of the second game.”
Shadin Roach led the Dodger JV boys with a 328 series with a game high 196. The Dodger JV won 1,866-1,232.
The Dodgers are back in action on Friday when they host Carroll.
