Humboldt keeps perfect 3A-2 mark intact, 42-0
HUMBOLDT — The fourth-ranked Humboldt football squad kept its perfect district record intact on Friday night, setting up a showdown with No. 1 Algona.
The Wildcats (5-1 overall, 2-0 Class 3A, District 2) blanked Charles City (3-3, 0-2) by a final of 42-0.
Algona (6-0, 2-0) will now travel to Humboldt this coming Friday to see who will be the last remaining unbeaten in the district.
The Wildcats scored 14 points in each of the first three quarters last night.
Coen Matson had two touchdown passes, hitting Chase Flaherty from 72 and 29 yards out. Matson also had a rushing TD.
Mason Van Pelt, Jaxon Kirchoff and Cash McIntire added scores on the ground.
Cael Donahe and Cyler Cirks both recorded interceptions.
