Garrigan scores 71 in road rout

SIOUX CITY — The top-ranked (8-player) Bishop Garrigan machine continues to roll, as they reached the 70-point plateau on Friday night.

The defending eight-man champions cruised to a 71-20 victory over Siouxland Christian (0-6).

The Golden Bears (6-0) had 477 yards of total offense and 283 yards on the ground.

Trayton Cink was the groundhog with 162 yards on 11 carries and three touchdowns. Cink had touchdown runs of 71, 44 and one yard.

Quarterback Tate Foertsch 6-for-11 for 141 yards and three touchdowns. He threw scoring strikes to Wyatt Rosenmeyer (28 yards), Owen Murphy (47) and Michael Joyce (27).

CJ McGregor accounted for two TDs. McGregor ran for a 19-yard touchdown and threw a 15-yard scoring strike to Daniel Meis.

Ethan Marso had a seven-yard scoring jaunt and Andrew Lichter ran it in from three.

Isaac DeLange ran for 50 yards. Marso had six tackles, while Lichter, Madden Miller and Keaton Helleseth had four tackles each.

Marson recovered a fumble and Michael Joyce picked off two passes.
