Dodger girls swimmers tie Des Moines Lincoln

DES MOINES — Julia Eastman, Hailey Vogel and Kylen Lubensky were all individual event double winners here Tuesday night as the Fort Dodge girls swim team tied with Des Moines Lincoln.

Both squads finished the dual with 91 points.

The Dodgers also had three relay golds, claiming the 200 medley, 400 free and 200 free, along with winning diving courtesy Delaney O’Connor.

“It was a fun night winning 10 of 12 events,” FDSH head coach Ashley Beaumont said. “Delaney had a great night with setting a new season-high score.

“We definitely have some things to work on as we get closer to the end of our season but it was nice getting so many wins.”

Eastman was first in the 100 backstroke in 1:02.28 and 100 butterfly in 1:01.79; Vogel captured top finishes in the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.49 and 50 free in 25.16; and Lubensky bested the fields in the 200 free in 2:11.86 and 500 free in 5:52.00.

O’Connor racked up 205.70 points to place first in diving while also swimming on both the winning 200 free relay (1:51.36) and 200 medley (1:57.96).

Lubensky, Addison Daniel and Vogel completed the 200 free relay while Eastman, Vogel and Gracie Harvey swam the 200 medley.

The 400 free relay of Harvey, Lubensky, Karlee Pearson and Eastman went 4:05.81 to finish first.

Harvey was the runner-up in the 200 individual medley and 100 free.

Fort Dodge returns to action next Tuesday when they host Des Moines East.
