Shrine Bowl Saturday
CEDAR FALLS — The Iowa Shrine Bowl will take place this Saturday inside the UNI-Dome.
A number of local and area football standouts are part of the event, which will air live on Mediacom MC22 and stream on Facebook by Shriners Twin Cities.
Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
The North roster includes Fort Dodge’s Ty Adams, Humboldt’s Corey Dettmann, Webster City’s Jaxon Cherry and West Bend-Mallard’s Jaxon Zaugg.
Andee Barwin and Michaela Leiting from St. Edmond, along with Mikayla Beisel of Clarion-Goldfield/Dows and Tatyan Sheikh, Ashton Peters and Ava Leth Faulkner of Emmetsburg, are part of the cheer squad.
The Iowa Shrine Bowl was started in 1972 as a way to recognize senior athletes and coaches across the state while raising funds for the Shiners’ Children. During that time, over 5,000 players, cheerleaders and coaches have participated in the event.
