Dodgers blank Clinton, fall to Bettendorf
CLINTON — The Fort Dodge baseball team picked up a victory nearly four hours from home on Saturday.
The Dodgers (19-20 overall) defeated Clinton 3-0 in the morning, then fell to Bettendorf by a final of 14-2.
In the victory over the Riverkings, Rylan Kingrey and Dalton Eckley were both 2-for-4. Karch Smith and Tru McBride also added hits.
Eckley had the lone RBI for the Dodgers. Kingrey, Jace Johnson and Davis Underberg all scored runs.
Tanner Peterson earned the win, going five-plus innings. He allowed five hits, walking two and striking out two.
The Dodgers only managed two hits against Bettendorf: from Kolton Schiltz and Smith. Schiltz had an RBI and scored a run, while Smith also drove in a run. Johnson scored the other Dodger run.
Fort Dodge is back in action on Monday when they host Ankeny at Ed McNeil Field. First pitch in the single varsity contest is scheduled for 7 p.m.
