Tritons plate 30 in sweep

The Iowa Central softball team put up 30 runs and record 30 hits with 10 home runs in a doubleheader sweep over Iowa Lakes here Monday evening at Rogers Park.

Scores were 17-3 and 13-3 with both games ending in five innings.

With the wins, the Tritons (25-11 overall, 8-2 in ICCAC) have now picked up six consecutive victories and are 12-4 at home on the year.

Kennedy Palmer was 4-for-4 with a pair of RBI, while former Humboldt standout Alexis Hansen had a home run and drove in three in the opener.

Morgan Weeks and Calli Schell each added two hits. Jayda Long drove in four with a home run. Abby Winter struck out five and Emma Hoyle two.

In the nightcap, Hansen and Weeks each had a home run and three hits. Hansen drove in three and Weeks two. Bre Nolte and Long each had two hits with Long striking out two and Cailyn Hardy a pair inside the circle.

Iowa Central returns to action Wednesday when they host Northeast at 2 p.m.
