FDSH boys compete at Norwalk

NORWALK — The Fort Dodge boys track and field team scored five Top-3 finishes here Monday evening at the Norwalk Invitational.

The host Norwalk won the team title over Pella and Newton, as the Dodgers placed seventh overall.

Noah Daniel, a sophomore, captured the 100-mter dash in 11.56 over Newton’s Nick Thomason and Adel-ADM’s Talan Guile.

“I’m really happy with our performances,” FDSH head coach Kevin Astor said. “This is a very competitive meet and we had a lot of PRs.

“Noah had a really good night.”

Freshman Cael Hansen was third in the 800 with the sprint medley, 4×200 and 4×100 relays all claiming bronze.

Jamarius Gibbs-Green, Val Hensley, Tru McBride and Hunter Richardson ran the sprint medley, with McBride, Kyree Rochon, Tytrell Mosley and Daniel comprising the 4×200.

Gibbs, Daniel, Rochon and Drake Warland ran the 4×100.

“Cael really put together a strong night,” Astor said. “He was also sixth in the 3,200 and ran the 4×400.”

Jordan Lessmeier earned fourth in the long jump.

The Dodgers return to action Monday at Mason City.
