Area teams at ESC

SAC CITY — Several area teams took advantage of more normal spring conditions to compete here Friday at the Red Raider Relays, hosted by East Sac County.

Westwood won the boys title as the Raiders finished in a tie for third. South Central Calhoun was sixth and Manson Northwest Webster seventh. Ridge View held off the Wolverines for the girls crown with the Titans third. The Mustangs placed fifth and the Cougars sixth.

Alyssa Richman swept the distance events for Manson NW, winning the 3,000 and 1,500. Thatcher Oswald captured the 1,600 with Matt Condon claiming silver in the long jump and high jump.

Ava Moline was the shot put runner-up with as Kyla Egli placed second in the 100 hurdles. The MNW boys were second in the 4×800 relay.

Ashley Schleisman (discus), Tristin Gorden (shot put) and Brock Nattress (200) joined double-winner Chloe Judisch (400 and 800) atop the podium for South Central Calhoun. The Titan girls won both the 4×200 and 4×100 relays.

Gorden was the discus runner-up to Schleisman with Wyatt Mernka (discus), Mya Ridgely (100) and Zakiah Pettigrew (110 hurdles) all finishing second.

Parker Engel won the 3,200 over East Sac County teammate Landon Sporrer, with Logan Mohr (shot put) and Isaiah Aragon (1,600) claiming seconds.

WB-M’s Maddie Fehr won the 200 and was second in the long jump. Kierstin Montag claimed the 400 hurdles and the Wolverine girls won the 4×800 relay.

Tyra Schupbach placed second in the 3,000 and 1,500, with the sprint medley and 4×400 relays also earning silvers.

For Newell-Fonda, Isabel Bartek won the 100 and was second in the 200 as the Mustang girls were second in the distance medley and 4×400 relays.
