AREA DRAKE QUALIFIERS ARE SET

St. Edmond’s Myers, Fort Dodge’s 4x100 are headed to Des Moines

Mariah Myers and the Fort Dodge boys 4×100-meter relay are among those set for action during the high school portion of the Drake Relays.

Myers, a St. Edmond junior and University of Iowa softball commit, qualified in the discus. She will throw from inside Drake Stadium on Friday.

The Dodger boys 4×100 is set for action on Saturday. The quartet of junior Jamarius Gibbs-Green, sophomore Noah Daniel, freshman Kyree Rochon and senior Omarion Myers-Zimmermann has the best time for FDSH so far this spring.

Also qualifying are Ashlyn Works of Humboldt (discus), Maddie Fehr from West Bend-Mallard (100), Rachel Schany of Emmetsburg (long jump, high jump), Algona’s Max Nevitt (shot put) and Madison Ehrig (high jump).

The Bulldog boys and girls will be running in the 4×100 relays as well.

The Drake Relays are this Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Des Moines.
