No. 2 Tritons host No. 1

Wrestling fans headed to Hodges Fieldhouse Wednesday night will get a look at the top teams in the nation on the women’s side.

No. 1 Indian Hills takes on second-ranked Iowa Central beginning at 6 p.m. The men’s dual is set for follow at 7 p.m.

Leading the way for the Tritons are ranked wrestlers Emma Lewis (No. 2, 101 pounds), Dianna Pineda (No. 2, 109), Kailyn Younger (No. 3, 116), Rodiat Adeduntan (No. 4, 116), Aniyah Dinwiddie (No. 5, 123), Bronwyn Brenneman (No. 2, 130), Anna Sondall (No. 7, 130), Hadlie Hood (No. 2, 136), former Fort Dodge Senior High state champion Alexis Ross (No. 3, 136) and Kammie Schanz (No. 3, 143).

The Warriors feature top-ranked individuals Dutchess King (101), Yaracely Saenz (170) and Eliana Bommarito at 235.

Javanica Mickens is fifth at 116, Angelica Vicente is second at 123, Jayla Spring is eighth at 136, Sarah Lewis is eighth at 143, Genesis Gilmore is seventh at 155, Tiffany White (second) and Norma Alejandro (third) at 191 and Karla Padilla Zepeda second at 135.

Indian Hills finished first at nationals last year with 287 points as King and Bommarito were both crowned champions. Zepeda finished second to Bommarito.

Brenneman and Younger were both third at nationals for Iowa Central with Pineda placing fourth, Adeduntan fifth and Hood sixth.

On the men’s side, the Tritons are tied for 11th and Indian Hills is 19th.

Leading the way for Iowa Central is defending national champion Matt Sarbo, the top-ranked wrestler at 149. Lawrence Rosario is seventh at 174.

The Falcons feature ranked wrestlers Ajojae Hart (No. 7, 133) and Treyshawn White (No. 8, 285).
