Maehl helps Iowa Central women take care of business

Lainey Maehl recorded a double-double and the Iowa Central women improved to 6-0 here Monday with an 88-77 victory over the Grand View JV inside Hodges Fieldhouse.

The game was played early in the morning as part of an Education Day celebration, with several area elementary students in attendance.

Maehl, a Fort Dodge Senior High graduate, scored 14 points with 10 rebounds, adding two steals on 6 of 9 shooting from the floor. Laney Pilcher had 20 points with Alicia Hatlestad adding 15.

Fellow starters Kaitlyn Tendal (13 points) and Emily Theiss (10) joined them in double figures as the five shot a combined 26-for-46 from the field with four 3-pointers.
