Cougars fall at home

MANSON — The Manson Northwest Webster football team saw their season come to an end here Friday night, falling to Dike-New Hartford, 51-6, in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs.

The Cougars secured the home game thanks to a runner-up finish in the district race. Manson Northwest Webster finished 3-6, giving them a third three-win campaign in the last five seasons.

The Wolverines jumped out to an early 21-0 lead and led 44-0 at the half.

In the fourth, the Cougars got on the board after a short TD run by Matt Condon that was set up off a Caydin Anderson 30-yard catch from Logan Moline.

Tatuem Hanson, Ethon Morrow, Anderson, Matthew Siefken and Leon Cook all suited up for the final time for Manson NW.

Rally knocks Titans out

LOGAN — Logan-Magnolia overcame a big first half deficit to stun the South Central Calhoun football team here Friday night in overtime, 26-20.

With the win, the Panthers (8-1 overall) advance to the second round of the Class A playoffs, knocking the Titans (5-4) out.

South Central Calhoun led 20-12 at the half before Logan-Magnolia tied it in the third.

The game marked the final one for seniors Brendan Stone, Keegan Soard, Kolin Folsom, Zakiah Pettigrew, Gavin Batta, Zach Trott, Brock Nattress, Josh DeSart, Naylan Gulbranson, Preston Schumacher, Gabe King, Dawson Beidler and Joshua Billmeier.

Jaguars downed by Spirit Lake

SPIRIT LAKE — The Southeast Valley football team was unable to overcome Spirit Lake here Friday night, dropping a 49-0 decision in the opening round of the Class 2A playoffs.

The Jaguars earned their fifth winning season in six years, going 5-4. They have won 34 games over the last six seasons. Brady Hanson led Southeast Valley with 41 yards rushing.

For seniors Ross Larson, Andrew Miller, Tyler Moreland, Dalton Crouse, Isaiah Ihrig, Brad Pliner, Ethan Peed, Jace Hanson and Jace Nelson this was their final game in a Southeast Valley uniform.

East Sac County stopped at Underwood

UNDERWOOD — The East Sac County football team could not stay with Underwood, falling here Friday night, 44-6, in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs.

The Eagles (8-1 overall) took a 28-6 lead after the first quarter and added 16 more in the second on the Raiders (4-5).

East Sac County’s four wins this year were the most since 2019 when they also won four times. This marked the final game for seniors Luke Wright, Tate Lahr, Bradyn Burns, Charlie Veit, Karter Ludwig, Chandler Lahr, Logan Schroeder, Ryan Zimmerman, Kaydon Erpelding, Luke Wernimont, Brett Thayer and William Smith.

Cowboys can’t stay with West Lyon

INWOOD — After hanging with West Lyon for a half, the Clarion-Goldfield/Dows football team suffered a 50-0 loss here Friday night in the opening round of the Class A playoffs.

The Wildcats (8-1 overall) led 16-0 at the break but scored three times in the third and twice more in the fourth.

For the Cowboys (3-6), this was the final game for seniors Diego Gonzalez, Uli Frias, Carson Nesheim, Reed Reiland, Wyatt DeCoster, Landen Kakacek, Colin Kirstein, Nick Sisson, Caden Hankins, Mason Allen, Luis Matute and Jacob Sly.

Over the past three seasons, C-G/D won 12 games after winning just six in the prior four years combined.

North Union ends season

WOODBURY — The North Union football team was topped by Woodbury Central here Friday night in the Class A playoffs, 51-13.

The Warriors were down just 14-7 after the first before the Wildcats (9-0 overall) scored 30 in the second.

North Union (5-4) had won three straight to earn a spot in the postseason, winning five games for the second consecutive year. This was the final game for seniors Liam Kollasch, Kaden Laabs, Talan Priester, Gavyn Morphew, Preston Guerdet, Landon Hagedorn, Kolton Walter and Colin Rasch.
