Lynx back in win column

HAMPTON — After two straight losses Webster City broke back into the win column.

The Lynx (4-2 overall, 1-1 in district) beat Hampton-Dumont/CAL 35-6.

Jaxon Cherry rushed for 104 yards and three touchdowns, eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark on the season.

Cael Nixon ran for 132 yards and Keegan Hisler had 95.

Nixon had a nine-yard touchdown run.

Hisler connected with Luke Estlund for a 35-yard touchdown.

Five in a row for Bears

ALGONA — The Bishop Garrigan football team has found its stride.

The Golden Bears (5-1 overall) have now won five straight and have scored over 55 points in three straight.

On Friday night, Bishop Garrigan knocked off Siouxland Christian (0-6), 69-6.

Quarterback Tate Foertsch threw for 171 yards and three touchdowns.

He connected with Sam Plathe (47 yards), Drew Lappe (20, 19).

Justin Bauer returned a punt 53 yards for a score and Plathe had a 35-yard interception for a score.

Caden Roethler had two rushing touchdowns of 38 and five yards.

Ethan Marso had a four-yard touchdown run and Drew Muller connected with Daniel Meis from nine yards.

Roethler had 81 yards on the ground and the Golden Bears ran for 222.

Benjy Trainer caught two balls for 59 yards and Plathe had 47 yards receiving.

Marso led the defense with eight tackles, including a sack. Brody Ludwig had five and Muller recovered two fumbles.

Coon rushes for three touchdowns

CHARLES CITY — A week after a succeesful return from an injury, Lance Coon made some more trips to the endzone.

Last week, Humboldt (4-2 overall, 2-0 district) upset fifth-ranked Hampton-Dumont/CAL. This time around, they cruised to a 35-9 win over Charles City (3-3, 0-2).

Coon unofficially rushed for 188 yards and three touchdowns with a long of 35.

Coen Matson threw a 56-yard touchdown strike to Mason Van Pelt.

Carson Sleiter had two interceptions. and Corey Dettmann had one.

Jaguars pick up district victory

GOWRIE — Southeast Valley got into the district win column on Friday night.

After dropping two straight district games, the Jaugars (4-2 overall, 1-2 in districts) beat Saydel (1-5, 0-3) 51-7.

Cale Vansickle had four touchdowns and Brady Hanson had three for the Jaguars.

Vansickle threw touchdown passes of 39, 23 and one yards and had a 14-yard rushing touchdown.

Hanson had a 17-yard and 16- yard rushing touchdown and fetched a 23-yard pass for a score.

Southeast Valley finished with 396 yards of total offense.
