Waterloo East (1-3, 0-0) is paced by Jaelah Stanford, as the junior averages 13 points and six rebounds a game. Classmates Ruthie Hulton (6.5 points) and Miah Norman (five) are next in line.

The Fort Dodge boys (1-1, 0-1) dropped a 54-30 decision to defending Class 4A state champion Ames last Friday, just a few nights after winning the season opener over Boone, 42-38.

Senior Javion Jondle is averaging 14 points per game, including 19 in the win vs. Boone. Cade Westerhoff, a sophomore, has scored nine and 11 points, respectively, in the two games.

Lincoln (0-1) has won each of the last three meetings in the rivalry, though the Dodgers picked up four straight in the series between 2014-17. Junior Trovary Cavil leads the team after scoring 25 points in the opener, while Kyrell Moore added a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Jamal West had 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds, but the Rails fell to Des Moines East, 68-67.
