Another shutout for Humboldt
ESTHERVILLE -- Second-ranked Humboldt stayed unbeaten with their third shutout of the season.
The Wildcats (3-0 overall) knocked off Estherville-Lincoln Central 17-0 on Friday night.
Lance Coon had another strong outing, rushing for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Coon had scoring runs of two and four yards.
For the third straight game Trever Beach had a field goal. Beach parted the uprights from 35 yards.
The Wildcats had 277 yards of total offense, rushing for 211 yards.
Owen Hubbell led the defense with nine tackles and one and half sacks.
Wolverines hand Bears first loss
ALGONA -- West Bend-Mallard handed Bishop Garrigan iits first loss of the season on Friday night.
The Wolverines (2-1 overall, 2-0 district) earned a 30-12 win over the Golden Bears (2-1, 1-1).
Max Fehr rushed for three touchdowns for the Wolverines and threw a scoring strike to Sam Fehr.
Landon Montag was the groundhog, rushing for 131 yards on 26 carries.
Garrett Heying had a 12-yard touchdown run and an 8-yard touchdown strike to Aidan Hovey.
Cal Birkey finished with 57 yards on 12 carries for the Golden Bears.
Loseke becomes Jags career leader in tackles
HAMPTON -- Southeast Valley's win streak of seven straight came to an end on Friday night.
The Jaguars (2-1 overall) lost to Hampton-Dumont/CAL (3-0) 13-6
Brady Hanson had the lone score of the night for the Jaguars on a three-yard touchdown run.
Justin Loseke had nine tackles to become Southeast Valley's career leader.
Loseke now has 227.5 tackles, passing Iowa true freshman Aaron Graves (221).
Loseke has 31.5 tackles this season.
The senior is the son of Fort Dodge graduates Chad and Dawn (Anderson) Loseke.
