Gaels lose to Bishop Garrigan

ALGONA — The St. Edmond baseball team concluded their regular season here Thursday night with a 15-0 loss to Bishop Garrigan.

Jackson Palmer had the lone hit for the Gaels, who begin postseason action on Saturday at home vs. West Bend-Mallard.

“We’ve just made an unbelievable amount of errors the last two nights,” SEHS head coach Mike Szalat said. “We’ve got to hold ourselves accountable, myself included, and really made some tough evaulations over the next day and moving forward if we advance.

“I’ve got to change things up how I coach and we’ll see if it all makes a difference.”

Drew Lappe struck out four, allowing one hit for the Golden Bears.

Bishop Garrigan scored three in the first, one in the second, six in the third and four in the fourth.

Drew Szalat, Kinnick Henning and Palmer each had a strikeout in work on the mound for St. Edmond.
