HAMPTON — The St. Edmond wrestling team will hit the road to compete in a triangular after hosting their home tournament this past weekend.

The Gaels will face home-standing Hampton-Dumont at 6 p.m. and then compete against Clear Lake. The Lions and Bulldogs will finish the triangular.

Senior Grant Webster (182) continued his strong stretch, going 4-1. Sam Myer (132) was 3-2, while Tyler Rossmanith (160), Zach Rossmanith (170) and Adam Walker (195) both picked up two victories.

“Grant has really come on lately,” SEHS head coach Eugene Carlson said. “He wrestles his own style and is doing a really good job.

“It’s kind of like in the football playoffs – whoever is hot is going to win, and he is hot right now.”

Junior Ronnie Orres (120) will return to the Gael lineup after recovering from a strained knee.

Also competing for the Gaels will be Logan McElroy (140) and Klay Baker (152).

“It’s great to get Ronnie back,” said Carlson. “He had high expectations heading into the season and then had his injury.

“It will be nice for him to get in there and start mixing it up.”
