Gael wrestlers in action
ALLEMAN — The St. Edmond wrestling team returned to action here Tuesday night with a triangular against North Polk and Woodward-Granger.
North Polk topped the Gaels, 72-12, and Woodward-Granger downed St. Edmond, 69-12. The Comets bested Woodward-Granger, 48-24.
Grant Webster and Sam Myer each had pins for the Gaels against North Polk.
Webster bested Tyler Gardner in the first period, finishing the match in 54 seconds, while Myer pinned Brady Reinhart in 3:15.
In the dual with Woodward-Granger, Adam Walker earned a fall in 1:34 over Bryce Hockenson and Kade Schlegel claimed a forfeit. Meyer also picked up his second win of the night.
Webster dropped a tough 10-9 decision to Kolby Fogarty.
“The kids are getting better,” SEHS head coach Eugene Carlson said. “They are looking stronger. We’re still making mistakes, but they are mistakes that we can work on and fix in practice.”
The Gaels will head to Carroll on Saturday.
