Dodgers win twice

ANKENY — The Fort Dodge boys track team competed at the CIML Iowa Conference Meet on Tuesday.

The Dodgers came away with victories in the 4×200-meter relay and the sprint medley.

The quartet of Jake Erickson, James Daniel, Sam Daniel and Tyler Schreier ran the Dodgers’ fastest time of the year in the 4×200 (1:30.40).

Christian Davidson, Sam Daniel, Erickson and Schreier claimed gold in the sprint medley in 1:36.28.

Davidson, Thomas Daniel, Eli Elsbecker and Jerry Chada were third in the distance medley (3:54.83).

The 4×400 team of Chada, Elsbecker, James Daniel and Tyler Kasperbauer were fourth (3:43.34).

The 4×100 team of Davidson, Daniel, Erickson and Schreier were fourth in the 4×100 (43.74).

D’Arien Calahan was sixth in the 100-meter dash (12.0) and Sawyer Springer was sixth in the shot put (46-10.4).

“Our expectations was to get through this healthy,” said Fort Dodge head coach John McBride. “We ran our fastest time in the 4×200 and we were happy with that.

“We left a lot of events open and prepare for the state qualifying meet next Thursday.”

The Dodgers are back in action on Thursday at Waukee in the state qualifying meet.
