Iowa Central splits vs. Indian Hills

The Iowa Central baseball team closed out the month with a split vs. Indian Hills here on Wednesday at Ed Barbour Field.

After falling in the opener, 5-3, the Tritons claimed a 14-10 victory.

In the win, Iowa Central plated seven runs in the first and added three runs late to seal the deal. Both Ryan Wickman and Brock Johnson recorded four hits each, with Devin Hurdle and Jack Sievers picking up three.

Sievers drove in three runs and scored twice, Wickman and Johnson each had two RBI, and Hurdle had three hits, three runs and a pair of runs driven in.

Lane Glaser earned the win, pitching four innings of relief with a strikeout and just one hit allowed.

In the opener, Matthew Wilkinson struck out seven over five innings. Max Holy and Ben DeTaeye each had two hits with DeTaeye connecting on a homer and driving in two.

Iowa Central hits the road this weekend for a four-game set with Kirkwood in Cedar Rapids.
