Dodgers win 7 events

DES MOINES — The Fort Dodge boys track team grabbed a runner up showing at the Bob VanderLinden/Lincoln Invitational on Thursday.

The Dodgers won seven events and scored 81 points. Marshalltown won the team title with 104 points.

Tyler Schreier remained unbeaten on the season, winning the 100-meter dash in 11.41. Jerry Chada earned gold in the 800-meter run in 2:12.01.

Tyler Kasperbauer was the 400-meter hurdle champion in a time of 1:01.31.

Sawyer Springer had the best throw in the shot put, with a push of 47-10.

The Dodgers also won the 4×100 (43.68), 4×200 (1:33.33). Running both relays were Christian Davidson, Sam Daniel, Jake Erickson and Tyler Schreier.

The quartet of Davidson, Sam Daniel, Erickson and Chada won the sprint medley (1:39.38).

“We ran well without a full lineup,” said Fort Dodge head coach John McBride. “We moved some things around and ran our fastest time in the 4×100.”

James Daniel earned a silver medal in the 400-meter dash (55.71).

The shuttle hurdle relay (1:13.06) team of Tyler Kasperbauer, Connor Carver, Amaris Harris and Thomas Daniel and the distance medley quartet of Harris, D’Arien Calahan, Eli Elsbecker and Ayden Johanson(4:03.24) placed third.

Amaris Harris was fourth in the 200 (25.39) and the 4×800 (10:31.34) was fourth.

The Dodgers are back in action on Saturday when they compete at the Des Moines Roosevelt Invitational.
