‘21-22 prep football schedules released

The 2021 and ’22 prep football schedules were officially released by the Iowa High School Athletic Association on Monday.

Fort Dodge opens with arch rival Mason City on Aug. 27 inside Dodger Stadium. FDSH also squares off with Ames on the road (Sept. 3), Waterloo East at home (Sept. 10) and at Marshalltown (Sept. 17) to close out the non-district portion of its schedule.

Head coach Nik Moser’s squad then faces Webster City (Sept. 24 on the road), Spencer (Oct. 1 at home), Storm Lake (Oct. 8 on the road), Denison-Schleswig (Oct. 15 at home) and Le Mars (Oct. 22 on the road) for their Class 4A district slate.

St. Edmond kicks off its campaign on Aug. 27 at Westside Ar-We-Va. The Gaels tackle West Bend-Mallard for their home opener on Sept. 3, followed by North Iowa on the road (Sept. 10), Harris-Lake Park at home (Sept. 17), Remsen St. Mary’s at home (Sept. 24), Bishop Garrigan on the road (Oct. 1), Northwood-Kensett at home (Oct. 8) and GTRA on the road (Oct. 15).

Head coach Matt Dillon’s team will be competing at the eight-player level this season.

Webster City (4A) squares off with Humboldt (home), Boone (road), Waverly-Shell Rock (home), Mason City (road), Fort Dodge (home), Le Mars (home), Spencer (road), Storm Lake (road) and Denison-Schleswig (road).

Humboldt’s schedule includes Webster City (road), Garner-Hayfield/Ventura (home), Estherville-Lincoln Central (home), Boone (road), Ballard (home), North Polk (road), Gilbert (road), Nevada (home) and Algona (home) in Class 3A.

Southeast Valley (2A) takes on I-35 Truro (home), Emmetsburg (road), Hampton-Dumont (home), OABCIG (home), Estherville-Lincoln Central (road), Clarion-Goldfield/Dows (road), Pocahontas Area (home) and Spirit Lake (road).

Manson Northwest Webster (1A) has Pocahontas Area (home), Sioux Central (road), Okoboji (road), South Central Calhoun (home), Belmond-Klemme (road), Eagle Grove (home), South Hamilton (road) and Woodward-Granger (home).

South Central Calhoun (1A) faces East Sac County (road), Pocahontas Area (road), Emmetsburg (home), Manson Northwest Webster (road), Eagle Grove (home), South Hamilton (home), Woodward-Granger (road) and Belmond-Klemme (home).

Eagle Grove (1A) drew Clarion-Goldfield/Dows (home), MVAOCOU (road), West Central Valley (home), Woodward-Granger (home), South Central Calhoun (road), Manson Northwest Webster (road), Belmond-Klemme (home) and Souh Hamilton (road).
