The Iowa Central women were unable to jump back into the win column here Wednesday night, falling to Iowa Lakes by a final of 68-63.

After suffering back-to-back setbacks on the road, the Tritons (4-7 overall, 4-7) in the ICCAC) were hoping a return home would help get them back on track.

Isabell West recorded a rare 20-20 game, scoring 27 points with 20 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive end. Carley West added 12 points and three steals, Nevaeh Moeschter had 11 points and Nevaeh Galloway eight points with 10 rebounds.

“We did a nice job of coming back there in the second half, but we let a shooter get loose or didn’t get a rebound,” Iowa Central head coach Brian Ortmeier said. “We had it down to a one possession game and all of a sudden it was back to a three possession game.”

Jaeda Whitner led the Lakers (6-7, 6-7) with 21 points, scoring 19 in the first half. She made five 3-pointers to help Iowa Lakes build an early lead. Rachel Breck added 14 points, Rachel Puok 10 and Kariana Lohf had 11 rebounds.

“We didn’t do a good job of recognizing what Iowa Lakes was doing,” Ortmeier said. “We’ve got to be able to remain focused on what we are trying to do.”

The Tritons return to action on Saturday when they travel to Southwestern.
