Updated seating policy for events

An updated proclamation from Gov. Kim Reynolds led to an amendment in Fort Dodge Senior High’s activity attendance policies moving forward.

Basketball games will continue to allow two tickets per participant for home teams, with a two-ticket policy applied for student-athletes of visiting schools. Additionally, 150 general-admission tickets are now available for home fans at each contest.

Wrestling follows the same guidelines for the student-athletes competing, while also offering 300 general admission tickets per meet for home fans.

A total of 40 general-admission tickets are available for boys swimming duals only, and none are available for bowling, due to the size of the respective facilities. Home-team student-athletes are still given two vouchers per person for swimming and bowling. No visitors are allowed.

General admission tickets must be purchased through the school in advance, and are offered on an event-by-event basis. Please contact FDSH or visit its social media pages for availability.

All spectators must continue to wear face coverings and maintain six feet of distance from other spectators outside of their immediate household.

Fort Dodge has home bowling, swimming and wrestling meets on Thursday, and home basketball contests on Friday. The varsity boys basketball squad also plays at home on Saturday, and the boys swim team hosts the Rusty Garst Invitational on Saturday.

Live streams are available at either FDCSD Athletic Department on YouTube, or at www.sportscope.com.

St. Edmond also updated its policies based on the governor’s proclamation. The school announced the immediate family of all participants — players, coaches and cheerleaders — are allowed to attend games or meets. Managers and game management personnel are not included on the spectator list.

If a student lives in multiple households, both are allowed to attend. A spectator is still expected to leave once the respective game has finished.

Live streaming of events will continue on the St. Edmond Athletic Boosters Facebook page.
