Manson NW girls rally to defeat St. Edmond

MANSON — For two quarters, St. Edmond held the upper hand against Manson Northwest Webster on Monday.

A big second half was all the homestanding Cougars would need to prevail by a final score of 48-30.

The Gaels (2-10 overall) built a 20-13 lead at the break, but the Cougars (3-9) outscored the Gaels 35-10 in the second half to win going away.

“We didn’t get our shots to fall,” said SEHS head coach C.J. Tracy. “We didn’t attack the basket nearly enough, settling for too many jump shots.

“In the first half, we were playing to win. That didn’t carry over, though, and they took advantage.”

Senior Leah Neverman had a strong game for the Gaels, scoring 12 points. Mya McClain was next in line with seven.
