Dodgers compete at Cedar Falls tourney

CEDAR FALLS ä The Fort Dodge volleyball team was in action here Saturday at the Cedar Falls Invitational.

The Dodgers played three matches against West Delaware, Waterloo Columbus and Waterloo West.

Fort Dodge fell to West Delaware (25-14, 22-25, 15-9) and Waterloo Columbus (25-18, 26-24, 15-7) in three, and Waterloo West (25-12, 25-18) in two.

Kiana Touney had 23 kills with eight digs and an ace to lead FDSH. Tory Bennett was 22-for-24 serving with a pair of aces and 20 digs, Olivia Bell recorded 34 assists, Brooke Hansen had eight kills and four total blocks, Taytum Davidson had eight digs and Tjaden Pettit-Johnston chipped in seven kills with two solo blocks.

âWeáre hanging in there with teams,ã FDSH head coach Martha Mericle said. âBut we hurt ourselves with our mistakes.

Lainey Maehl had five kills and Victoria Touney seven.

Next action for the Dodgers will be Tuesday night when they host Ames at 7:30 p.m.
