Dodger girls fall at Roosevelt

DES MOINES — The Des Moines Roosevelt girls pulled away for a 72-43 victory over Fort Dodge on Tuesday.

The Dodgers (3-7 overall) hung tough through the first quarter and were still within striking distance late in the half, but the Roughriders (5-4) created some separation and eventually pulled away in winning their third consecutive game.

Sophomore Tory Bennett had 16 points for FDSH, while classmate Aleaha Pommer also reached double figures with 12.

Roosevelt, which posted a 20-8 advantage in the third quarter, got 22 points from Arianna Jackson. Amaya Davison added 14.

The Dodgers return to action on Friday at West Des Moines Valley.
