BASKETBALL PREVIEW: Dodgers welcome Mason City

THE TIP: Fort Dodge hosts Mason City in a rescheduled CIML Iowa Conference doubleheader inside the Dodger gym. Tip is set for 6:15 p.m. in the girls game. On Tuesday, the FDSH boys host Johnston in a single contest at 7:45 p.m.

GIRLS PROBABLES: Fort Dodge (4-10 overall, 2-3 in league): Tory Bennett, so., 10.8; Aleaha Pommer, so., 7.1; Cheyenne Miller-Hameed, jr., 7.1; Tristin Doster, jr., 4.1; Haley Wills, so., 0.8.

LAST TIME OUT: Fort Dodge snapped a five-game losing skid with a 57-26 victory over Marshalltown last Friday night, outscoring the Bobcats 17-2 in the fourth quarter. Mason City is coming off a 78-62 setback to Southeast Polk last Friday. Anna Deets is shooting over 40 percent from the field and leads the team in made 3-pointers.

ABOUT THE MOHAWKS: Since a four-game losing skid, Mason City has won three of five. They started the season 5-1 including a victory over West Des Moines Valley.

Johnston (6-6): Karter Kriegel, jr., 3.9; Garrett Miller, sr., 6.7; Reid Grant, jr., 8.4; Steven Kramer, soph., 4.8; Max Roquet, jr., 11.7.

LAST TIME OUT: The Dodgers dropped their 12th consecutive game, falling to Marshalltown last Friday night, 61-40. Mason City fell to Southeast Polk that same night, 63-52. Johnston topped West Des Moines Dowling last week, 60-55.

ABOUT THE MOHAWKS: Both Corey Miner and Jeffrey Skogen have made over 60 field goals on the year. Carter Thomas leads Mason City in rebounds and steals, and is third in assists behind Avery Mellman and Miner.

ABOUT THE DRAGONS: Max Roquet leads the team in points, made field goals, rebounds and blocks. Reid Grant is second in scoring and first in assists for Johnston.
