EAGLE GROVE — The St. Edmond volleyball team stepped out of North Central Conference play to face a former league rival here Monday night.

The Gaels picked up a three-set victory over Eagle Grove by scores of 25-17, 25-11 and 25-17.

Conrad, Naughton and Mya McClain were a combined 45-for-48 serving on the night.

“We really tried to focus on the little things and stay disciplined,” SEHS head coach Dee Huss said. “We fell back into some bad habits in the first set, but played a little better the remainder of that set and controlled the second from start-to-finish.”

Josie Huss added three kills, three digs and an ace, Isabel Woodhouse had three kills, Leah Neverman recorded two kills and a block, Kierstin Clark had four assists and McClain added four digs and two aces.

“We just see so much potential in this team,” Huss said. “I want them to reach it.”

St. Edmond also won the junior varsity contest (21-9, 21-15), but lost the junior varsity reserve (21-18, 21-17).
