Gaels take care of Cadets

IOWA FALLS — The St. Edmond softball team had their best game of the season here Wednesday night in the eyes of head coach Nick Clark.

Six different Gael batters drove in a run as St. Edmond downed Iowa Falls-Alden, 6-2.

“Up-and-down the lineup we got production from everybody,” Clark said. “We were aggressive on the first pitch and that all started with a long at-bat to begin the night by Rylee Kinney.”

Kinney was 3-for-3, scoring three runs with a double to lead SEHS. Erin Flattery and Jocy Timmerman both had two hits, driving in a run and recording a double each.

“I thought it was our best game of the season,” Clark said. “A lot of girls played and it was a team effort all the way around.”

Ella Vratny earned the win inside the circle, striking out five and allowing just six hits with one walk. She also scored a run and had a hit.

Jacque Oberg, Macey Mason and Devyn Scott all drove in a run, with Oberg scoring and Scott hitting a double.

The Gaels return home on Thursday night, hosting Greene County at 7:30 p.m.
