It was all Algona on Monday at Rogers Park, as the Bulldogs blistered the St. Edmond baseball team in a North Central Conference contest, 17-3.

Cameren Rindone drove in four runs for the Bulldogs, while Spencer Holmes and Tyler Manske contributed three RBI each. Matt Grein and Carson Devine both scored three times.

Noah Carlson was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a pair of RBI. Bryce Witham drove in a run with a double.

“This was a game we want to forget,” SEHS head coach Mike Szalat said. “We had more errors than hits and walked way too many guys.

“There weren’t many bright spots. We did extend the game with three runs in the fifth (down 10-0), but they turn around and scored seven in the sixth. It was a rough night.”

Connor Bocken, Noah Carlson and Jack McEvoy each drove in runs for the Gaels.

Spencer Holmes surrendered just a single hit for Algona (6-10 overall), striking out 10. Holmes did walk six.

There were 21 batters who were issued free passes in the contest. St. Edmond pitchers walked 15.

The Gaels (5-8) return to action on Wednesday at Clarion-Goldfield/Dows. The Bulldogs take on Iowa Falls-Alden at home on Wednesday.
