St. Edmond girls golf team advances to regional finals

LIVERMORE — The St. Edmond girls golf team had a strong showing in regional play on Monday.

Rylee Kinney advanced to next week’s district action with a runner up showing and the Gaels also moved on with a third place finish at Spring Valley.

“I’m proud of the way the girls played,” said St. Edmond head coach Kelsey Felch. “It’s nice to see their hard work start to payoff.

“We have some work to do before Monday, but we are excited and ready to play in Britt.”

Bishop Garrigan finished first with a 366. North Union (413) was second and the Gaels were third with a 448.

Bishop Garrigan’s Isabella Capesius was the meet-medalist with an 86 and Kinney was next in line with a 90. Garrigan’s Anna Berke and Kelly Baade both shot 93s for third and fourth place finishes.

Bishop Garrigan’s Ava Eisenbarth also moved on with a 94 in the fifth spot. Both North Union’s Halle Rezac and Manson Northwest Webster’s Aubree Jones advanced in the sixth spot with 99s.

Also competing for the Gaels was Amanda Richman (109), Chloe Lewison (122), Cameron Brown (127), Clare Condon (145) and Hannah Zinnel (152).

The Gaels are back in action next Monday at Britt, playing fort berths in the state tournament.
