Dodger Treep 8th in CIML Iowa golf meet
MASON CITY — Fort Dodge’s Anne Treep placed eighth at the CIML Iowa Conference Invitational on Thursday at the Mason City Country Club.
Treep carded an 83, finishing just seven strokes away from runner-up honors. Paige Hoffman of West Des Moines Valley was the meet medaist with an even-par 71. Brooke Boardman of Waukee and Valley’s Saffire Sayre both shot 76.
Treep parred six of the first seven holes before double-bogeying the par-3 eighth. She finished with a 40 on the front nine.
On the back, she had three pars and one birdie, but a triple bogey at the par-4 17th.
Treep’s 83 tied her low 18-hole round of the season.
Makayla Newsom (55-54–109), Estella Moffitt (55-63–118) and Alexis Kenney (64-55–119) had the other counting scores for the Dodgers.
Five of the Dodgers shot near or better their best scores of the season. Newsome was three over her best, Kenney tied her low, Moffitt shot her best round and Taylor Smith topped her best score by five strokes.
Valley won the team title with a 307. Waukee (336) was second.
